'Learn to Play' Therapy

Teach child how to play

Playing with Baby Doll

Learn to Play is a specialized therapeutic program designed for children who find it difficult to play, whether due to developmental challenges or other reasons. While many children naturally learn to play on their own, some need the guidance of a Play Therapist to develop these essential skills.

During Learn to Play sessions, the Play Therapist leads pre-arranged play activities that help children build and expand their play skills. As the therapeutic process continues, these activities gradually increase in complexity, fostering the development of crucial life skills such as problem-solving, flexible thinking, and collaboration.

Initially, the Play Therapist directs the sessions, but as the child becomes more comfortable and skilled, they gradually take the lead, with the therapist providing support. In some cases, children may need to complete Learn to Play sessions to build their play skills before moving on to One-on-One Play Therapy, where they can use play to explore and express their feelings and life experiences.
